Front-, mid- and rear-wheel drive: They’re the predominant drive configurations for today’s power wheelchairs. Each configuration has its strengths and weaknesses that impact performance over various terrains and within various environments. The configurations of these different power base platforms also impact the positioning of both the seating systems and the clients that they carry. The intent of the Webinar is to leave you with a general sense of what you should expect, function and performance wise, from these platforms.
Permobil’s Hymie Pogir has decades of experience in designing and working with all of these drive configurations, and in this FREE Webinar, he’ll share his insights into each power base configuration, how seating & positioning setup is affected, and how clinicians and providers can use the patient evaluation to determine the optimal seating & mobility system for each client.
Don’t miss this free educational opportunity for seating & mobility clinicians, providers and service/repair technicians.
What You’ll Learn:
- The design similarities and differences among front-, mid-, and rear-wheel-drive configurations.
- How those designs impact a power chair’s ride and stability.
- How each configuration performs in different environments, including indoors and outdoors.
- How drive configurations impact the positioning of the rider and the seating system on the power base.
- How to use clinical and lifestyle evaluations to determine which drive configuration would be best for a particular client.
