2025 International Seating Symposium Calls for Abstracts
The ISS will take place March 20-22, with pre-ISS workshops on March 18-19.

July 11, 2024 by Laurie Watanabe

The 2025 International Seating Symposium (ISS) call for papers has begun.

In a July 10 bulletin, the ISS team announced the opening of the abstract submission period.

“This is your opportunity to present your hard work to thousands of attendees at the world’s largest academic conference on wheelchair seating, mobility, and associated assistive technologies,” the bulletin said. The ISS will take place March 20-22, with pre-ISS educational workshops on March 18-19.

The symposium is set for the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Abstract proposals must be submitted by Aug. 28.

The 2025 event’s expo hall will be open March 19-21. The annual Community Day event, open to consumers and their families, is the evening of March 19.

New for 2025 is a Hands-On Zone, a “brand-new, interactive exhibitor space for the 39th ISS. This area will feature different terrain, thresholds and obstacles for mobility device users to navigate.”

Also new for 2025 are a catalog of session tracks, “allowing attendees to easily identify sessions that suit their interests,” and the +P&O track, “a collaboration between ISS and our colleagues in prosthetics and orthotics, with both sessions and P&O exhibitors.”

The ISS 2025 hotel block opened last week.
