VGM Canada Announces Canadian HME Woman of the Year

VGM Canada has announced the winner of its first annual Canadian Woman of the Year award.

The 2022 winner, announced during the Canadian Seating & Mobility Conference in Toronto, is Cindy Wickens, Founding Partner of XPerience Home Healthcare in Windsor, Ont.

In an Oct. 27 news release, VGM Canada said Wickens began working in the home health industry in 1986, starting at Doncaster Medical and later owning Motion Specialties Windsor.

Wickens also is a firefighter at Lakeshore Fire Department. She’s been a firefighter for 33 years and was recently promoted to Captain.

Wickens and her husband, Ken, have been foster parents working with the Windsor Essex Children Aid Society since 2018.

Dave Davies, President of VGM Canada, said in the announcement, “VGM Canada is proud to name Cindy as the first Canadian HME Woman of the Year. Her contributions to her company, the industry, and her community have been significant. Congratulations, Cindy!”

The Canadian HME Woman of the Year Award program is open to women who work in the HME or mobility industries in Canada. Nominees can be suppliers, physical or occupational therapists, manufacturers, or other HME/mobility professionals.
