Java Decaf Back
The Decaf’s patented biomechanical design
provides the flexibility to accurately fit both
the trunk and pelvis for support, comfort and
enhanced mobility. An adjustable back angle
and personalized contour at the pelvis helps
provide balanced support and freedom of
movement. The Decaf can be adjusted in
multiple axes for optimal contact: height,
angle, depth, plus rotational and asymmetrical
adjustments. The Decaf adjusts to fit any
chair from 10" to 15" wide, and is available
in regular and tall profiles. It can be fitted to
the child regardless of the wheelchair width
— replace only the back shell and insert to
accommodate significant growth.

Ride Custom AccuSoft
Ideal for users looking for accurately
fit seating with a softer
sitting surface, the AccuSoft is
made to match each individual’s
unique shape. Two foam
choices, soft and extra soft, are
available. Ride CAM Wedges can
adjust contours to accommodate
weight change, tissue
atrophy, and postural changes.
The cushion has an inner incontinence

Ride Forward
Ideal for users who want comfort, greater
sitting stability, improved skin outcomes, and
incontinence/spill protection, the Ride Forward
surrounds the pelvis with supportive contours
while reducing pressure around at-risk bony
prominences. This helps improve postural
control and balance without compromising skin
protection. A top viscoelastic layer provides
protection and comfort as it conforms to the
body shape. The cushion’s contour, spacer fabric
outer cover, and inner incontinence-resistant
cover work together to keep both the user and
the cushion dry. Even under significant load, the
spacer fabric outer cover does not compress.

Forward Cushion
With mild to moderate skin protection and a design that emphasizes comfort and prevention of sliding, Ride Designs’ Forward wheelchair seat cushion can be a great intervention for growing kids, seniors or clients who have sustained a stroke, brain injury or incomplete spinal cord injury.
The Forward’s design surrounds the pelvis with supportive contours while reducing pressure around at-risk bony prominences. The result is improved postural control without compromising skin protection. The cushion is made to help keep hips level and positioned at the back of the chair, which can enhance the wheelchair user’s seated stability. Now the Forward cushion is available in four additional sizes — 14x18", 15x15", 15x17" and 17x17" — in response to industry demand.

Ride Custom 2
Ride’s new Custom 2 cushion features all the skin and postural care of the original Ride Custom cushion, but in a more comfortable, lighter and simpler design. The cushion is made specifically to match each user’s unique shape, helps to decrease long-term skin risk and aids in sitting stability for improved functional performance. Well suited to traditional custom seating clients, the Custom 2 also has unique features to make it a great match for active wheelchair users and growing kids. A 16x16" size weighs about 1.8 lbs., and the Custom 2’s base is softer. A base ventilation channel is optional.

Custom Back
While this may be first considered for clients who need customized seating, its features also make it a great match for active users and kids. The Custom back’s thin profile and lightweight design have little or no impact on seat depth, width or performance. Supplementary padding and reliefs can improve protection and comfort in needed areas. The infinitely adjustable FlexLoc wheelchair interface permits adjustment in every axis of movement, ensuring optimal balance and postural control. The Custom back can be modified for linear growth and weight change at a fraction of the cost of a new back.

Ride Java
Created for users looking for greater sitting stability and improved functional performance, the Java also works to improve skin outcomes, including lower tissue distortion and lower long-term skin risk. The cushion redistributes forces of pressure and shear away from high-risk areas, while applying the forces to more tolerant areas. Java’s design and cover materials are made to maintain cool, dry skin to encourage potentially lower pressures and less deep-tissue distortion. This enhanced sitting performance requires no regular fit-essential maintenance. Java can be adjusted using Ride CAM wedges if users’ conditions change.

An ATP & Clinician Best Pick of 2017:
So far I’ve only used this new system to capture a back for client, but I love the technology. I know a few other brands have come out with similar systems, but I haven’t gotten to try theirs yet, so Ride Designs gets my vote. Finally, no reason to pull out the plaster anymore. This new system is easy to use and super fast to capture. I love the move to a camera-based capture. It will save us lots of time in both the molding and the clean-up when we use Ride Designs products.

Custom Molded Seating
An ATP & Clinician Best Pick of 2017:
Ride Design’s custom molded seating is an amazing product for certain clientele. It was developed by a physical therapist and an orthotist in Colorado, and it can help people sit in their mobility device in ways that other devices cannot.
— Frank Lane, ATP, CRTS, National Seating & Mobility
What about the new technologies around scanning for custom molded seating? Very quick scanning and no more plaster molds for them. No slinging plaster anymore on a Ride mold; I love this.

Custom Cushion 2
Ride’s popular Custom
Cushion has combined
with advanced Ride-Works scanning/ordering
technology to produce
the Ride Custom Cushion
2 — offering all the skin
and postural care of its
predecessor in a lighter,
more comfortable and simpler design. An intuitive and accurate process
enables shapes to be quickly scanned then sent with photos and order

Java Cushion
Built to aid in the reduction of pressure and tissue deformation, the Java cushion’s patented contour redistributes forces of pressure and shear from high-risk areas, while selectively applying the forces to more tolerant areas to help decrease long-term skin risk. The lightweight cushion is also engineered to help skin stay cooler and drier, while improving sitting stability.
An ATP & Clinician Best Pick of 2016:
We’ve been seeing
a lot of success
with this cushion
for users of all sorts of diagnoses, such as spinal cord injury, multiple
sclerosis and even Alzheimer’s. It does a wonderful job of protecting
the skin by offloading bony prominences and improving air circulation,
and it promotes upright sitting by preventing posterior pelvic
tilt. For fans of Ride custom seating, this is the off-the-shelf cushion
we’ve been waiting for!

Soft Fit Option
Thanks to input from seating professionals, Ride Design is now offering a “Soft Fit” option for its Custom cushions. Traditionally, the Custom cushion has had a single layer of spacer mesh fabric. But because clinicians and ATPs wanted a Custom cushion feel that’s more comparable to Ride’s Java cushion, the company now has a Soft Fit option consisting of two layers of spacer fabric (whose vertically oriented fibers help wick away moisture) with cutouts for the ischial tuberosities. That provides increased softness and comfort at the loading contours, but with a functionally deepening well to improve offloading. A third layer of spacer fabric on top of the first two layers completes the Soft Fit.

Java Decaf
Designed for kids, the Decaf can be flexed specifically to support the unique contours of a growing child’s body without losing seat depth and with accurate support contact through the pelvis, lumbar and thoracic spine. The Decaf is available in permanent or quick-release configurations. Patented FlexLoc hardware allows Decaf to be adjusted in multiple axes.
Ride Designs
Custom Cushion
Capable of being built to almost any size, Ride’s Custom cushion is made of a Brock composite material that enables air to circulate to keep skin drier. The cushion offloads at-risk bony prominences and redistributes sitting forces to areas that can tolerate more weight. The result is a higher level of postural control, plus superior skin protection. The E2609 cushion weighs about 3 lbs.
