The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) will soon launch a survey open to all segments of the diverse home medical equipment (HME) industry.
In an April 19 bulletin, AAHomecare said it will be “seeking input from the full spectrum of home medical equipment stakeholders to help us set strategic priorities that reflect the needs of our industry and better equip the Association to achieve them.”
Suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and HME association leaders are being asked to share their thoughts.
AAHomecare added that data collected “will help guide a comprehensive strategic planning process that began in earnest this March and will include an in-person session for the full AAHomecare board in July. The process is focused on setting industry and Association priorities for the next two to three years.”
Survey Is Open to Non-Members As Well
The survey will go live on May 1 and will close on May 12. AAHomecare members and non-members are invited to take part.
“All segments of the HME community — including companies that are not currently AAHomecare members — are encouraged to participate,” the announcement said. “The survey is anonymous, but we will be asking that you make an effort to only submit one response per company.”
Tom Ryan, AAHomecare’s President/CEO, said in the announcement, “Reimbursement models, payer mixes, patient preferences, healthcare technology, and government policies affecting HME are going to continue to evolve — and we need to ensure we’re able to influence these new developments where we can. If we’re not thinking ahead, we’ll be falling behind the pace of change.
“First-hand insights from all segments of the HME community will help us set a strategic direction for our industry and how we allocate resources to win on our most important priorities and provide high value to association members. This is your chance to make sure your company’s needs, and those of your patients or customers, are considered in that effort.”
