AAHomecare, VGM Seek Grassroots Accountability Project Volunteers
GAP advocates will bring industry issues to their specific members of Congress.

November 20, 2025 by Laurie Watanabe

The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) and VGM & Associates are partnering on the Grassroots Accountability Project (GAP) — and as the project’s name suggests, they are seeking advocacy volunteers.

In a Nov. 19 bulletin, AAHomecare described GAP as “an initiative focused on strengthening the HME [home medical equipment] industry’s presence on Capitol Hill. We are currently in need of HME stakeholders to volunteer as primary contacts for specific members of the House and Senate.”

Industry members who become GAP advocates “will maintain a presence with your assigned legislator to educate them and activate their support for critical HME issues,” the association said. “This helps us secure more legislative champions for our cause.”

GAP advocates will be alerted via email when the industry needs legislative help, such as support for a certain bill. “You will be asked to contact your member — via email, call or visit — using provided talking points,” AAHomecare said. “We strongly encourage you to customize these points and tell your own story to maximize the impact.”

Industry members seeking to become GAP advocates can contact AAHomecare Program Manager Stephanie Legree ([email protected]).
