The Abilities Expo, a consumer-focused event series for people and families living with disabilities, is preparing to launch its 2024 shows, starting in Los Angeles next month.
The series opens March 15-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
That weekend will be followed by the New York Metro Abilities Expo in Edison, N.J., May 3-5; the Chicago Abilities Expo at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center, June 21-23; the Houston Abilities Expo at the NRG Center, Aug. 2-4; the Phoenix Abilities Exp at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Sept. 6-8; the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Abilities Expo at the Broward County Convention Center, Oct. 18-20; and the Dallas Abilities Expo at the Dallas Market Hall, Dec. 6-8.
Admission is free, but adults are required to register. Children under 18 do not need to register, but must be accompanied by an adult. During the registration process, attendees can indicate disability support or accommodations needed, such as American Sign Language interpreters. Scooters are available to borrow for free, and the expo hall includes a free wheelchair repair station.
Each Abilities Expo includes educational presentations; sports and entertainment demonstrations, an expo hall; and family-friendly activities.
Los Angeles Abilities Expo educational sessions include “What You Wish You Knew About Your Manual Wheelchair, But Were Afraid to Ask” (presented by Ki Mobility); and Wheelchair Seating Solutions for Kids (presented by Stealth Products).
