ActiveCare Medical Announces Expansion into Rehab Seating Systems

June 1, 2009 by Laurie Watanabe

ActiveCare Medical, based in Columbia, S.C., has entered the rehab seating market.

The power mobility manufacturer has announced that it now offers power seating options for its Medalist, Catalina and Wildcat power chair lines.

The Medalist and Catalina lines now are available with power tilt (50°, posterior and anterior tilt available), power tilt & recline, and power recline (175°, with adjustable precline also available). Both chairs have a 300-lb. weight capacity and are HCPCS coded K0823.

The Wildcat power chair line (K0822) offers custom seating options, including “basic inserts, a number of solid seats and backs – both with several choices of modification – and supports to meet each individual end-user’s needs, such as thoracic, hip and thigh, and head.” Seat cushion options are also available.
“We are pleased to now be able to offer complex rehab seating,” says ActiveCare President/CEO Steve Neese. “This new option furthers our mission of providing high-quality mobility solutions at a lower cost to our providers.”

Neese adds that the seating systems “are designed and built with ease of operation and service in mind. The response we’ve gotten from rehab techs and dealers on our initial units has been extremely positive. They love how simple our powered seating systems are to work on and how clean the design is.”
