The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) is looking for its first-ever consumer board member.
“This newly created position represents ADED’s dedication to ensuring consumer perspectives guide our decision-making and strategic direction,” the organization said in a June 24 announcement from ADED CEO Elizabeth Soles, OTR/L, CDRS, CAE. “We’re looking for someone who has personally experienced the services of a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) to bring authentic insight to our board.”
The new board member will serve a two-year term, participate in board members and decision-making, contribute an unbiased consumer perspective to organizational priorities, and mentor future consumer board members.
The application deadline is Sept. 30.
ADED asked industry members to consider as potential candidates those consumers “who have completed your services and shown leadership qualities,” as well as former clients interested in advocacy opportunities. The organization also asked industry members to share the opportunity with colleagues and community partners who work with consumers.
“This is our chance to ensure consumer voices are heard at the highest level of our organization,” ADED said. “Your referrals and outreach will be crucial to finding the right candidate.”
