Rocket Mobility’s track-driven, all-terrain Tomahawk power wheelchair has been named “The Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska” for 2023.
The NE Manufacturing Alliance contest “highlights Nebraska’s manufacturing industry” and is “a great way to learn about the many products made in Nebraska,” according to the Alliance’s Web site. The Tomahawk has a 4-mph top speed and a 7-mile range, with a 19.5-inch standard seat width, standard flip-up armrests, and a ground clearance of 5.5 inches.
The Tomahawk was designed to “help disabled hunters, veterans, farmers, and anyone else with mobility issues to reclaim their off-road independence,” according to the Rocket Mobility Web site.
To win the title, Rocket Mobility, headquartered in Columbus, Neb., defeated the Drone Amplified system by Ignis Firefighting System in the final round. In earlier rounds, the Tomahawk defeated the Pond-Tini pontoon boat, Bakers Candies’ Chocolate Meltaways, and Endicott Clay Products’ Invisi-Lug Clay Paver.
“We had a blast taking part in the contest and are so appreciative of all the overwhelming support that we received!” the company posted on social media.
