Professional wakeboarder and videographer Ben Leclair has joined the marketing team at Amylior.
In a news announcement, the seating and power wheelchair manufacturer said Leclair would serve as a spokesperson and ambassador, and will have a hand in the design and development of future Amysystems power chairs.
Leclair, 25, was injured in a training accident in late 2016 and now uses an Amylior power chair. But he has retained his close ties to the world of wakeboarding and continues to film, edit and produce videos on a range of subjects.
As Amylior’s newest marketing team member, Leclair will be called upon to give first-hand input on the company’s new products. He’ll also travel to tradeshows to talk about Amylior’s offerings.

We will have among us a real user who can test drive our new products. He will speak from experience. Ben will be encouraged to propose changes, improvements and innovations.”
While wakeboarding made Leclair a world traveler, he was born in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, a town near Amylior’s headquarters in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec. An Amylior company director was the first to learn of Leclair’s accident and recovery process via a newspaper story last December.
Leclair, who has a professional diploma (DEP) in Industrial Mechanics, was an accomplished video producer before his accident. It’s a talent, and a passion, that he continues to pursue and use.
In a new video on Amylior’s Web site, Leclair is shown wakeboarding, skateboarding, and filming.
“I’ve always been chasing this feeling of freedom and progression,” he says in the video. “The more you do it, the more natural it becomes. Then boundaries become possibilities.”
