Sunrise Medical, Darrell Gwynn Foundation Donate Quickie Wheelchair
A 9-year-old boy with cerebral palsy received quite a memorable souvenir when Sunrise Medical and the Darrell Gwynn Foundation teamed to present him with a Quickie Z500 power chair as he and his family were visiting the Barrett-Jackson automotive auction in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Pete Yanovitch, the second-grader and wheelchair basketball athlete who'll be enjoying the new Quickie Z500, was helping to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Barrett-Jackson collector car events. Barrett-Jackson also auctioned off a 1978 Corvette Pace Car to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation.
Darrell Gwynn, a renowned racecar driver and team owner, created his foundation after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 1990. The foundation works to prevent spinal cord and other serious injuries, especially in children, and to support those with disabilities or critical illnesses.
