Harmar Mobility Acquires Summit Lifts

>Harmar Mobility has acquired Summit Lifts, a Winnebago, Mo.-based company that manufactures stairway lifts.

"I am excited to welcome Summit and their talented associates to the Harmar team," said Harmar President Chad Williams.

>Mike Vogt, the founder of Summit Lifts, will continue as Summit's COO, Williams added in a news statement. Said Vogt: "I am thrilled with the synergies of our two companies and the opportunity to make our products available to Harmar's loyal dealer network."
Harmar, long-time manufacturer of ramps and vehicle lifts, described the acquisition of Summit as a "capstone" to its home accessibility division, known as Harmar Access. The Harmar Access division also offers vertical platform lifts and bathlifts.

Harmar described Summit's stairway lifts as "designed to be both extremely robust and simple to install. These common characteristics are exactly what have made every Harmar product unique among its competition and also what makes Summit's stairway lifts a natural addition to the Harmar family of products."
