The Pride Silver Star line of vehicle ramps and lifts will now be known simply as Pride Lifts & Ramps, the manufacturer has announced.
Pride Mobility Products Corp. acquired Silver Star in 2005, but has since made extensive product improvements and upgrades. Kirsten DeLay, Pride's EVP of sales management and operational planning, said changing the name of the line is a reasonable next step.
"Providers and consumers trust the Pride name," DeLay says. "Bringing vehicle lifts and ramps under that umbrella was the next natural progression in the brand's advancement. We have every determination of being a mainstay in the lift business and are excited to continue developing innovative transport solutions. We look forward to expanding our work with great organizations like NMEDA and further helping our providers with their retail needs to meet the demands and requirements of consumers."
NMEDA, the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association, is composed of professionals who provide adaptive automotive equipment and assess the transportation needs of people with disabilities and their families.
The Pride Lifts & Ramps line includes a variety of wheelchair and scooter lifts for SUVs, minivans and vans. Pride's 2011 Professional Education Partnership - the manufacturer's annual educational tour - includes training and certification sessions on its lifts and ramps.
