Ohio Hospital Association Lauds Invacare's Chairman

Invacare Corp. Chairman/CEO A. Malachi "Mal" Mixon III has received a Health Care Leadership Award from the Ohio Hospital Association.

Mixon, chairman emeritus of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation board of trustees in addition to his duties at Invacare, was given the Donald R. Newkirk Award, named after the Hospital Association's long-time president.

A news release said the award "recognizes a significant lifetime contribution to the healthcare field in Ohio."

Awards were presented at the association's yearly Recognition Dinner in Columbus, Ohio, in June.

The Ohio Hospital Association, founded in 1915, represents 166 hospitals and 16 health systems throughout the state.
