Ottobock to Distribute Vista Medical's BodiTrak

Ottobock has signed an exclusive agreement to distribute PatienTech/Vista Medical's BodiTrak system in North America, according to an announcement from Ottobock.

The announcement described the BodiTrak Smart Fabric system as "a completely new approach to interface pressure mapping and data collection" and noted the system "uses advanced electronic sensors with built-in smart USB electronics and the world's only three-dimensional, stretchable, breathable pressure-sensing material."

Andrew Frank, VP of sales and marketing for PatienTech/Vista Medical, added that the BodiTrak system includes simplified electronics that he called "much simpler to use, easier to maintain and more affordable. We are very pleased to partner with Ottobock in helping rehabilitation professionals meet the needs of their clients."

Matt Swiggum, Ottobock VP of mobility solutions for U.S. healthcare, said of the new partnership, "With its pioneering technology and its efficiency in addressing the important quality-of-life issue of skin breakdown, the BodiTrak pressure mapping system is a great fit with the Ottobock brand and an excellent addition to our line of products."
