Harmar Names New CEO

Harmar has named Drew McCartney its new president/CEO to replace outgoing Harmar founder and industry veteran Chad Williams.

In a news announcement, Harmar said the reins of the company changed hands April 28, although Williams is staying on the company's board of directors.

Harmar, based in Sarasota, Fla., produces a wide range of automotive and environmental accessibility products, including outside and inside vehicle lifts, stairlifts, vertical platform lifts and pool lifts.

Williams founded Harmar in 1998.

Jeff Lipsitz, managing partner at Cortec Group, Harmar's controlling shareholder, said about the management moves, "During his tenure as CEO, Chad built Harmar into one of the preeminent manufacturers of mobility and accessibility products in the United States. His leadership over the last 16 years was critical to Harmar's growth, and we look forward to his continued involvement in the business as a member of the board of directors."

McCartney's experience includes CEO positions at BelHealth Investment Partners, DW Healthcare Partners, and First Circle Medical, the Harmar news announcement said.

"We are thrilled to have Drew join Harmar as president and CEO," Williams said. "He has extensive and relevant experience building healthcare businesses and proven leadership skills to drive the company forward in our next phase of development."
