The United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) is examining the possibility of hosting its own events internally, including national and conference cup competitions, the organization announced in a March 5 bulletin.
USPSA said it hoped to make the decision soon, adding, “This is obviously a big step for the USPSA, and we are having discussions with those who have hosted such tournaments in the past. If we move forward, we will need some support locally on the ground to facilitate volunteers the days of the event and potential local sponsors that would be interested in the visibility during a national event, but the USPSA will do the heavy lifting to host the cups. This should allow us to announce the location of the cups prior to registration and allow teams an opportunity to make an informed decision when they register.”
The MK Battery Premier Conference Cup starts June 19 in Tampa, Fla., and the MK Battery Champions Conference Cup starts July 17 in Fort Wayne, Ind. MK Battery is the official battery of the USPSA.
