Spina Bifida Research Award Deadline Is Nov. 9

The Illinois Spina Bifida Association (ISBA) is presenting a $1,000 Professional Advisory Council Research Award “for excellence in publishing in the area of spina bifida clinical research,” the organization has announced.

Nominations are due Nov. 9. The association says the first author of the winning research must be a citizen or a legal resident of the United States.

In a news announcement about the award, ISBA Executive Director Matt Larsen said, “We are thankful to have strong community relationships and the collaborative support of professionals specializing in spina bifida care and treatment.”

Kathy Zebracki, Ph.D., chair of the ISBA Professional Advisory Committee, added, “Through this award, we hope to further clinical understanding of spina bifida and contribute to ISBA’s mission by providing professional expertise, diverse knowledge of spina bifida communities and relationships with colleagues, agencies and resources at both the local and national level.”
