Clinician Task Force to Present Access Webinar on Aug. 13

As part of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) Awareness Week, the Clinician Task Force is partnering with NRRTS to present an Aug. 13 Webinar at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

“Rolling the ADA Forward: Therapists Improving Access to Mobility Equipment” also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA was signed into law by Pres. George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1990.

Cathy Carver, PT, ATP/SMS, Executive Director of the Clinician Task Force, is the event facilitator. Panelists include Joseph Nahra, Director of Government Relations for Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC; Erin Michael, PT, DPT, ATP/SMS; Jenny Lieberman, Ph.D., OTR/L, ATP; Maggie Dahlin, PT, DPT, ATP; and Jenny Siegle, NRRTS 2020 Consumer Advocate of the Year.

Attendees can be eligible for one contact hour or .1 IACET CEU. A quiz will be offered after the Webinar for attendees who would like to earn the .1 CEU.

As for learning objectives, according to NRRTS and the Clinician Task Force, attendees “will be able to articulate an overview of the process involved in passing legislation for improved access to mobility equipment. At the conclusion of this session attendees will be able to identify three resources for understanding Complex Rehabilitation Technology. Participants will be able to list at least two practical strategies to implement into their service delivery related to advocating for improved access to CRT.”
