Providing the optimal seating and wheeled mobility equipment for clients with complex mobility needs is a challenge in the best of circumstances. So how do seating professionals work in environments that have fewer resources?
A May 14 Webinar hosted by the University of Pittsburgh RSTCE team goes straight to the subject matter experts for those answers. “Strategies for Worldwide Wheelchair Services in Less Resourced Areas” is the third Webinar in the Prelude to Pittsburgh series leading up to October’s International Seating Symposium in Pittsburgh.
Panelists include Francois Friedel, Physical Rehabilitation Program Operation Manager; International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC);
Elia Bernabeu Mira, the ICRC’s Physical Rehabilitation Program Manager for Niger; and Freddy Alfonso Diaz, an orthoprosthetist with the ICRC’s Colombia delegation.
Mira and Diaz will share how seating clinics were established in Niger and Colombia, respectively.
Attendees who complete the one-hour event as well as a post-event evaluation and test can earn .1 CEU.
