Cory Lee Blog: “Were You Born in a Wheelchair?”

If you’re a travel aficionado, or if you just appreciate well-written, often humorous blog posts, check out the work by Cory Lee, who chronicles his many adventures of riding in a power wheelchair.

Lee’s personal blog is Curb Free with Cory Lee, But Lee also blogs for Sunrise Medical, and yes, his latest entry does include the question, “Were you born in a wheelchair?” (This question, Lee says, was asked by an adult, in case you were wondering.)

Lee, who has spinal muscular atrophy, has visited all seven continents and describes travel as not something he wants to do, but “something I needed to do.” His Curb Free Web site includes tips on traveling in a wheelchair, as well as posts on locales ranging from India to Denmark.

For Sunrise Medical, Lee has blogged about accessibility at Walt Disney World and why he suggests that people who use wheelchairs consider a cruise for their next vacation.

But Lee’s June blog post, “7 of the Wildest Things I’ve Been Asked As a Wheelchair User,” is both hilarious and head-scratching. Lee includes his actual responses, as well as how he would have liked to respond, particularly since nearly all of the “wildest” questions included here were asked by adults.
