Numotion has been named a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” after earning a perfect score on the 2021 Disability Equality Index (DEI).
In a July 13 news announcement, Numotion’s CEO, Mike Swinford, said of the award, “Disability awareness is a core part of Numotion’s values and culture of inclusion. The best way to attract, retain, and grow talent with disabilities is to create an accessible and inclusive workplace. The Disability Equality Index provides the necessary tools towards evaluating our ongoing disability initiatives while also keeping us up to date of changes and recommendations that can enhance our efforts.”
The DEI is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN, a non-profit organization that serves as a worldwide disability inclusion resource for businesses.
Disability:IN describes the DEI as “a comprehensive benchmarking tool that helps companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions that they can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality.” The DEI is completed online and takes about 40 hours to finish.
Participating businesses earn scores from zero to 100; businesses earning scores of 80 or above are recognized as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
With its perfect score of 100, Numotion joins a roster of businesses and organizations including Anthem, Biogen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, GM, Google, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic, McKesson, Merck, Pfizer, and Walgreens.
Numotion currently has more than 150 locations in the United States and serves more than 300,000 people annually. Last week, Numotion announced it had purchased online retailer SpinLife.
