Sunrise Medical Launches QUICKIE Nitrum Options

Sunrise Medical’s Nitrum ultralightweight manual wheelchair is still new to the market… but already, the manufacturer has announced new options, designed to expand the chair’s configuration range.

In a news release, Sunrise Medical announced a new dual-tube Hybrid frame, described as offering “the highest rigidity and strength.”

And the new fixed Active Rigid option “offers the lightest weight possible in a Nitrum configuration,” the announcement added. “Combined with its patented caster link, Twist-Lock backrest, and ovalized ShapeLoc frame technologies, Sunrise Medical continues to push the boundary of excellence and innovation.”

The Nitrum frame line now consists of:

QUICKIE Nitrum, with a minimalistic open frame, a full range of adjustability, and a user weight capacity of 275 lbs. At 10.8 lbs., this is the lightest-weight frame.

QUICKIE Nitrum Hybrid (new), weighing 12.8 lbs. with an ultra-rigid dual-tube frame and a full range of adjustability, plus a user weight capacity of 300 lbs.

Active Rigid: Available for both frames, the optional fixed welded backrest and axle stems increase frame stiffness, reduce moving parts, and save even more weight.

Sunrise Medical’s 3D Visualizer system on the Sunrise Web site gives clinicians, suppliers and consumers the ability to personalize a Nitrum by choosing from a range of settings and options, including color schemes and accents.

“The Nitrum’s brand new 3D visualizer on the Sunrise Medical Web site has attracted more than 30,000 users globally,” the news announcement said.
