In a Sept. 2 news announcement, NSM said it has acquired Canada Care Medical Group. Via the acquisition, NSM’s Canadian division will add 10 locations in Eastern Canada, including in four provinces that are new for NSM.

In the announcement, NSM described Canada Care as a family-owned business that was founded in Ottawa in 1969. The Canada Care Medical Group comprised Canada Care in Ontario, Les Entreprises Médicales de l’Outaouais in Quebec, and Embracor in the Maritimes.

Per the agreement, NSM has acquired Canada Cares’ mobility division, as well as its disposable supplies business and its HME retail stores.

Canada Cares employees Martin Lavergne, BJ Meloche, Sylvain Bujold, Hans Kristensen and Alison Meloche will transition into leadership positions at NSM.

Bill Mixon, NSM’s CEO, said in the announcement, “Helping individuals gain personal independence through custom mobility and accessibility solutions is the foundation of NSM. Each acquisition and expansion broadens our reach to help more people in need. We are excited to expand into the Eastern Canada area.”

This latest acquisition raises the number of NSM Canadian locations to 22. NSM serves clients in five Canadian provinces.
