Tradeshow producer Messe Düsseldorf, best known in the Complex Rehab Technology industry for the REHACARE International event, has launched a rehabilitation show for China.
REHACARE SHANGHAI is scheduled to debut Sept. 1, 2022, with a goal “to support the development of the rehabilitation industry in China and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.”
In an October news announcement, REHACARE executives said the timing is right to launch a rehab event in China.
“We have followed the development of the Chinese rehabilitation market and the positive changes for people with disabilities in China over the years and are very impressed by the progress,” said Marius Berlemann, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai. ”Now is the right time for us to launch REHACARE SHANGHAI with the aim of raising public awareness, promoting inclusion for people with disabilities and thus enabling them to lead a self-determined life.”
Hannes Niemann, REHACARE INTERNATIONAL’s Director, added, “We are also experiencing the positive developments of the Chinese rehabilitation market at REHACARE INTERNATIONAL in Düsseldorf. More and more Chinese companies have been presenting increasingly high-quality products and solutions in recent years.
“Thanks to our worldwide network and Messe Düsseldorf’s expertise in organizing the leading trade fair REHACARE, REHACARE SHANGHAI benefits from our full support and will hit the ground running.”
The show will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, and the news announcement said Messe Düsseldorf anticipates more than 100 exhibitors at the inaugural event, with about 8,000 attendees expected. An aging Chinese population — the news announcement said about 25 percent of people in China will be 50 years or older by 2050 — is also an impetus for the new event, as Chinese seek “an age-appropriate life.”
The next REHACARE International event is scheduled for Sept. 14-17, 2022, in Düsseldorf. Messe Düsseldorf canceled the 2021 event this summer due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, after canceling the 2020 event for the same reason.
