Mobility Management Podcast: NCART Updates 2022 Priorities

In a new Mobility Management podcast, NCART Executive Director Don Clayback and Associate Director Mickae Lee discuss unfinished business from 2021 and priorities for the first portion of 2022.

Among the carry-over issues from last year: The ongoing wait for a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) response to a request for Medicare coverage for power standing and seat elevation.

“Unfortunately, the next step in the process, where they post [the response] so the public can comment on the request for re-consideration — that step has not happened yet,” Clayback said in the podcast.

As for what the industry can expect next, the public health emergency (PHE) continues for now, Lee said: “It’s difficult to predict when the PHE will end. [Health & Human Services] Sec. [Xavier] Becerra has stated that he will give agencies and stakeholders at least 60 days’ advance notice before not extending the PHE further. So we know we will have some level of warning.”
