In a March 29 announcement, the manufacturer said its Lebanon facility at 300 Duke Drive will undergo a 75,000 square-foot, $15 million expansion that will impact its operations and its research & development division.

Chuck Witkowski, President of Permobil Americas, said in the announcement, “This site expansion is an exciting opportunity to expand and enhance the innovative solutions we provide for individuals. As the global leader in trusted assistive technology, we’re increasing our research & development and production capacities to meet the growing needs of our end users and customers.

“I am grateful to our passionate employees, whose hard work and commitment to our end users and customers allow us to continue to grow. The expansion will reflect our commitment to providing a great work environment to our team members, while continuing our commitment to sustainability.”

The current Lebanon site employs more than 240 people and measures 113,000 square feet. Permobil said the addition will use existing space on its 17-acre campus and should be completed this summer.

Permobil hosted a March 28 expansion announcement event that included company executives, elected local and state officials, and the teams at the Lebanon facility.

Gov. Bill Lee said of the expansion, “Permobil’s decision to expand its Tennessee manufacturing operations is a testament to our strong business climate, highly skilled workforce and quality of life. I thank Permobil for its investment in Wilson County and look forward to the company’s continued success.”
