The Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America (RESNA) and the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) have signed a new partnership agreement.
In a May 12 news announcement, RESNA said NMEDA is now a Platinum Premier Corporate Partner and “will continue to engage with RESNA members as a valued and trusted assistive technology and rehabilitation partner through year-round educational, social, and awareness activities.”
NMEDA’s CEO, Danny Langfield, said in the announcement, “We couldn’t be happier to sign an official partnership with RESNA. The goals of our organizations align themselves extremely well, and we are excited to take our work with RESNA to the next level and help them continue to accomplish their mission of promoting the health and well-being of people with disabilities through increasing access to technology solutions.”
Andrea Van Hook, RESNA’s Executive Director, said, “My thanks to Danny and his team at NMEDA for their continuing support of RESNA. For years, we’ve enjoyed significant overlap in members and cooperative activities. I’m excited about working together on a consistent basis to increase awareness of the different mobility options available to people with disabilities in their communities.”
NMEDA is currently celebrating National Mobility Awareness Month by collecting and sharing stories from people who use adaptive automotive equipment.
RESNA’s 2022 conference, Driving the Future of Assistive Technology, takes place virtually July 13-15.
