NRRTS Schedules 30th Anniversary Party & Open Meeting

NRRTS has announced the timing for its official 30th Anniversary Party, to coincide with its open meeting.

Mark your calendars for Wed., July 27, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time.

The meeting will take place virtually, and registration is now open.

In a July 13 announcement of the celebration, NRRTS said, “In 1992, there were no standards for the provision of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) no certification, no supplier qualifications, few equipment options, and easier documentation. Anyone could provide wheelchairs and seating. There was no complaint process and no code of ethics.

“Into this sparse, wild west environment, a few forward thinkers conceived and created the National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) to improve the provision of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) for everyone.”

The anniversary event will also celebrate Simon Margolis, who co-founded NRRTS and served as its first Executive Director. Margolis “represented the very best in what it means to be an active, involved and committed member of the Complex Rehab Technology community,” the announcement said. “He gave tirelessly of his time, compassion, and expertise. His visionary leadership made NRRTS and the entire CRT community what it is today.”

At the event, NRRTS President Gerry Dickerson, ATP, CRTS, will provide a NRRTS update. Incoming President Carey Britton, ATP/SMS, CRTS, will speak on the future of the organization, while Jason Kelln, ATP, CRTS, will talk about NRRTS’s growth in Canada. Kelln is a Canadian board member for NRRTS.

In addition, NRRTS promised “awards presentations, surprises, and videos guaranteed to keep you informed, educated and entertained.”

Weesie Walker, ATP/SMS, Executive Director of NRRTS, said, “We’re proud of what we’ve done, what we’ve become, and where we’re going. We still have a long way to go, and we’re dedicated to the continuing support and advancement of CRT suppliers.”
