ASL-102 Provides Multiple-Device Control for Clients Limited to One Switch Site
Power chair users can drive, operate power seating functions, and control electronic devices with this Adaptive Switch Labs system.

August 25, 2025 by Laurie Watanabe

Power wheelchair riders with complex presentations can have many goals to accomplish — driving, using power seating functions, operating communications devices — while also having the limited ability to consistently and efficiently use standard power chair controls.

The ASL-102 UNO Single Switch Scanner from Adaptive Switch Laboratories is designed so a power chair rider with only one constant switch site can control multiple devices via one switch. Using the ASL-102, power chair riders can control power chair movement, seat functions, and phones, tablets and communication devices.

The standard attendant control works with the drive control without totally taking over or changing to another drive setting. While in Bluetooth or auxiliary mode, the client can use a phone or communication device as the attendant controls the chair.

The UNO Single Switch Scanner can be used for clients with a range of diagnoses including multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), spinal muscular atrophy, locked-in syndrome, and high-level spinal cord injuries, or for clients with other diagnoses who have a single constant switch site.
