Bid Rates to Be Announced July 1, CMS Tells PAOC

June 30, 2010 by Laurie Watanabe

In a June 30 Program Advisory & Oversight Committee (PAOC) meeting, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) said that single-payment amounts for Round 1 of the Medicare competitive bidding program would be announced July 1. The report on the timing came from the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare), whose VP for government affairs – Walt Gorski – is a PAOC member.

AAHomecare said the bid amounts would be posted at www.dmecompetitivebid.com the morning of July 1.

CMS also said that DME suppliers who are being offered contracts would be notified via e-mail on July 1 and in writing on July 2. Suppliers then have 10 business days to accept or decline the contract offers.

Also to be posted to the Web site: charts showing anticipated savings for each competitive bidding area (CBA) and in each product category being bid, as well as distribution of contract offers per CBA and single-payment amounts by HCPCS code per CBA.
