Binson’s Medical Equipment & Supplies marked its 70th anniversary with a celebration that remembered the company’s past and looked forward to future achievements and ventures.
In a July 18 blog post on the Binson’s Web site, the company shared highlights of the 70th anniversary party, attended by community leaders including State Rep. Donavan McKinney; Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller; State Sen. Paul Wojno; District 12 Commissioner Michelle Nard; Center Line Mayor Bob Binson; Center Line Public Schools Superintendent Joseph Haynes; City Manager/City Clerk Dennis E. Champine; and Karen Brown, representing Rep. John James.
Also at the celebration was a painting of S. George Binson, who founded the business in 1953. He’s shown in the painting with James E. Binson, Chairman of Binson’s board of directors.
Bob Binson said at the ceremony, “I asked to have this picture up here today because I wanted my grandfather here, because he’s the one that started this whole thing.”
For the anniversary celebration, the company created a video — Binson’s Celebrates 70 Years: A Journey Through Time. “Seventy years ago, at the heart of Michigan, we laid the foundation of Binson’s, a healthcare entity that’s about more than just equipment and services,” the narrator said. “Throughout this transformative journey, we’ve discovered our role extends beyond just being a provider.”
The video, which can be viewed on the Binson’s Web site, includes quotes from members of the Binson family and Binson’s employees, and discusses community service activities, such as the company’s long-time support of a camp for children with muscular dystrophy.
Binson’s has 16 offices in Michigan: Ann Arbor, Brighton, Center Line, Center Line Pharmacy, Dearborn, Flint, Flint Outpatient Pharmacy, Flint Pharmacy, Livonia, Nursing & Staffing (Flint), Royal Oak, Southgate, St. Mary Mercy Hospital (Livonia), Sterling Heights, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (Pontiac), and Troy. Binson has two additional offices in South Bend, Ind., and Longwood, Fla.
