Colours Wheelchair Update: Now Processing Dealer Quotes, Orders

Colours Wheelchair, which paused production in February, continues to expand the “soft opening” it announced on May 14 via social media.

A social media post on May 27 said, “We are now scheduling appointments. Dealers, we are now providing quotes and processing orders. When ordering parts, expect delays, as not all items are in stock. Dealers and customers: We are now taking orders.”

Colours’ phones are also back in service; dealers can call (951) 808-9131, or email [email protected].

The ultralightweight wheelchair manufacturer has not yet resumed welding or sewing services.

Colours Wheelchair suspended production on Feb. 28, citing “the challenges posed by increasing costs, prompting the relocation of our factory.”

University of Pittsburgh’s Rory Cooper Named Associate Vice Chancellor for Research, STEM and Health Sciences

Rory A. Cooper, Ph.D., PLY, is the new associate vice chancellor for Research for STEM and Health Sciences Collaboration at the University of Pittsburgh.

Cooper made the announcement in a May 28 social media post.

A seating and wheeled mobility icon, Cooper was also the University of Pittsburgh’s first-ever assistant vice chancellor for Research for STEM and Health Sciences Collaboration. He is the founding director and Veterans Affairs senior research career scientist of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL), has authored or co-authored more than 375 peer-reviewed journal publications, and has 30 patents awarded or pending in the fields of mobility, robotics, and assistive technology, according to his Pittsburgh bio.
