Briefly: LEGO Supporters Needed; Poster Deadline Approaches

August 29, 2023 by Laurie Watanabe

Vote for LEGO Power Chair

A reminder that a power chair built of LEGO bricks (created by Permobil engineer Anton Danielsson) needs your support for the chance to be made commercially available. If you’d like to see this LEGO chair — complete with full suspension, anterior tilt and standing — at a LEGO Store or big-box retailer near you, visit the LEGO Ideas site to vote. At press time (Aug. 29), the power chair had 1,980 votes; it needs 10,000 votes to be considered by LEGO’s commercial division.

NPIAP Poster Presentation Deadline Is Sept. 29

Sept. 29 is the deadline to submit research posters to be presented at the NPIAP 2024 Annual Conference. In an Aug. 28 reminder, the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel said, “We welcome abstracts that support the NPIAP mission to improve patient outcomes in pressure injury prevention and management through education, public policy, and/or research.”

Poster presentations will be eligible to win awards — the Student, Young Investigator, Best Overall, or Charlie Lachenbruch Award — and a few posters will be chosen to be presented from the podium.

The NPIAP 2024 Annual Conference takes place Feb. 16-17 in San Antonio, Texas, with the theme, “The Cutting Edge of Prevention & Treatment of Pressure Injury.”
