NSM Names Interim CEO
National Seating & Mobility (NSM) has named Chuck Bodner as its interim CEO. Bodner is the provider’s Chief Financial Officer.
NSM announced Bodner’s appointment in a July 6 news release. Bodner replaces Tony Ueber, who was introduced as NSM’s new CEO in April. Ueber replaced Bill Mixon, who’d been NSM’s CEO for the last nine years and who, upon stepping down, joined NSM’s board of directors.
ADED Conference Early-Bird Pricing Closes Soon
Early-bird pricing ends this week for the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists’ (ADED) annual conference, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, in Kansas City, Mo. The 47th annual event — “Driver Rehab and All That Jazz” — will feature workshops, seminars, and an Auto Mobility Expo, with educational content relevant and appropriate for professionals at all levels of experience (introductory, intermediate, advanced).
Participants can earn up to 27 ADED contact hours by attending a two-day course plus all conference activities, or up to 20 ADED contact hours by attending a pre-conference workshop and all conference activities.
The keynote speaker is Terrie L. Price, Ph.D., ABPP, presenting on the topic, “The Intersection of Cognition & Affect in a Driving Evaluation.”
CTA Asks for Public Input on Air Passenger Protection Regulations
The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) is considering proposed amendments to its Air Passenger Protection Regulations.
In a July 11 announcement, the CTA said it’s seeking changes “to clarify, simplify, and strengthen the Canadian air passenger protection regime. The CTA will have to make regulations to implement these changes.”
The consultation period closes Aug. 10, after which the CTA will publish draft regulations in Canada Gazette, part I. After a comment period, the finalized regulations would be published in Canada Gazette II.
On social media, disability advocate Maayan Ziv said of the announcement, “Time to get loud on why we need better #RightsOnFlights for people with disabilities in Canada.”
