Briefly: R-TRAK Is Fully Code Verified; a Pushchair Project Is Announced
Featuring Quantum Rehab, the PDAC, Designability, & JMDA.

September 23, 2023 by dmiyares

R-TRAK IS FULLY CODE VERIFIED BY PDAC

When our last eMobility edition published Sept. 21, Quantum Rehab’s new rear-wheel-drive R-TRAK was awaiting PDAC verification for some of its HCPCS codes. But the Quantum team has confirmed that those verifications came through, so the R-TRAK can now be configured as a standard K0848/K0849; a single-power K0856/K0857; or a multiple-power K0861.

DESIGNABILITY & JMDA TO PARTNER ON PUSHCHAIR PROJECT FOR PARENTS

JMDA, which describes itself as an award-winning British product design consultancy, is partnering with Designability on the assistive technology organization’s Pushchair for Wheelchair Users project.

In a July 11 announcement, Designability said it “will harness JMDA’s 30 years’ experience in the nursery industry to help bring independence to disabled parents with children.”

The project is a pushchair — what Americans would commonly call a stroller — that attaches to a self-propelled manual wheelchair so manual wheelchair users can independently take their young children out into the community.

Designability is also known for its Wizzybug, a pediatric powered mobility device for young children.
