RESNA Announces New Leaders

Three new RESNA board members began their terms on Aug. 1 and will serve through July 2026. During an industry update Webinar, RESNA welcomed Julie Piriano, PT, ATP/SMS; Sue Redepenning, OTR/L, ATP; and Allison Sevillano, Ph.D., ATP.

RESNA also announced new co-chairs for its Professional Standards Board: Jason Kelln, ATP, and Kyle Walker, ATP.


Rory Cooper to Deliver Colin McLaurin Memorial Lecture in October

Rory Cooper, Ph.D., will deliver the Colin McLaurin Memorial Lecture at the University of Pittsburgh on Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. Eastern time. Participants can attend in person at the O’Hara Student Union or via a livestream of the event.

Cooper is the founder, director, and CEO of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories; is a RESNA Fellow; and will be inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in October.


Bill Mixon Starts New CEO Position

Former National Seating & Mobility (NSM) CEO Bill Mixon has been named the CEO of Advanced Diabetes Supply (ADS), headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif.

A July 10 press release said Mixon has succeeded ADS co-founders and co-CEOs Mark Howard and Tim Cady, who have assumed advisory roles on the ADS board of directors.

ADS was described in the announcement as “a leading national distributor of specialty diabetes supplies.” In 2021, ADS acquired United States Medical Supply.
