United Spinal Announces Priorities for Roll on Capitol Hill
United Spinal Association has announced its priority issues for next month’s virtual Roll on Capitol Hill.
In a May 21 bulletin, United Spinal said Roll on Capitol Hill advocates would focus on wheelchair service and repair reform to “reduce extensive repair delays”; legislation that would improve care support via home and community-based services; and Improving rehab outcomes “for people with neurological and paralyzing conditions.”
The 12th annual Roll on Capitol Hill, which will take place as an all-virtual event this year, is scheduled for June 11-13. Past events have featured wheelchair riders, their families, and health-care professionals taking more than 200 meetings with members of Congress, Senators, and their staffers.
Free RESNA ATP Certification Pop-Up Scheduled for May 30
The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) is hosting a free Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification session on Thurs., May 30, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Eastern time.
Abby Sodie, RESNA’s membership and operations senior associate, will be fielding questions on ATP eligibility, continuing education requirements, and ATP application requirements, such as direct service work experience and which college degrees qualify within the “rehab science” category.
