United Spinal Mini Grants Available for Wheelchair Riders Affected by Disasters

United Spinal Association is accepting disaster-relief grant applications from wheelchair riders who have been impacted this year by disasters such as hurricanes, wildfires or floods.

To qualify for the grants, which are provided by the Neilsen Foundation, applicants must have spinal cord injuries or disorders or be wheelchair users, and must have been affected by a disaster this year. Applicants also must have financial need and be able to provide documentation of their disabilities and financial need.

NSM Provides ADA Sponsorship at Pilgrimage Music Festival

An ADA-accessible viewing area with an NSM banner is seen near an outdoor stage at a music festival.National Seating & Mobility (NSM) once again was the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sponsor for the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, held this year on Sept. 28-29 in Franklin, Tenn.

For the fifth year, NSM provided ADA-accessible viewing areas for music fans with disabilities. NSM employees also served as event hosts on the platforms.

“NSM was pleased to be a part of the Pilgrimage Festival hosted in the heart of our corporate headquarters’ hometown again this year,” said Crispin Teufel, NSM CEO. “We are proud to have served as the event’s official ADA sponsor to enhance the festival experience for individuals with disabilities who travel from all over to be a part of this much anticipated annual event.”

Among the headliners for the 2024 festival were the Dave Matthews Band, Hozier, Noah Kahan, and NEEDTOBREATHE.
