VGM Canada has named Brenlee Mogul-Rotman, B.Sc., OT, OT Reg. (Ont), ATP/SMS, its 2024 Canadian HME [home medical equipment] Woman of the Year.
The award winner was announced at the Canadian Seating & Mobility Conference this week in Toronto.
In a Sept. 10 news announcement, VGM Canada noted that Mogul-Rotman, a long-time occupational therapist, is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists Seating and Mobility Team; has served on the professional standards board of the Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA); and is on the board of directors of the Canadian Spinal Research Organization.
Mogul-Rotman is currently the national clinical and technical education manager at Permobil. A colleague, in making the case for this award, said, “A traveling machine that is all over the country, [Brenlee is] on the road more than at home, spreading the clinical word about proper positioning, support, and mobility to OTs, sales reps and clients. [She is] always willing to lend a hand and get involved to support client health and good outcomes. Brenlee has become a ‘go-to’ resource for OTs and sales reps across the country. Her vast experience with all kinds of clients, from the basic wheelchair user to the C3 quad that drives with S&P, has helped them all live better, more independent lives. Her passion is endless for working to improve people’s independence.”
The Canadian HME Woman of the Year program is open to women in Canada who work in the home medical equipment or Complex Rehab Technology industry. VGM Canada called for nominations from industry peers.
“VGM Canada is proud to name Brenlee as the third Canadian HME Woman of the Year,” Dave Davies, president of VGM Canada, said in the announcement. “Her contributions to her community, her company, and the entire HME and mobility industry are so impressive, and we are excited to honor Brenlee with this award. Congratulations, Brenlee!”
