Three Freedon Designs manual tilt in space wheelchairs — one each with blue, green, and red frames — are shown with Matrx seating.Invacare America has announced a collaboration between two of its divisions — Freedom Designs and Motion Concepts — that will simplify the seating and wheeled mobility ordering and provision process.

In a June 16 announcement, Invacare said the new partnership between Freedom Designs, known for its manual tilt-in-space wheelchairs, and Motion Concepts, a seating and positioning specialist, “will deliver integrated manual wheelchair and seating solutions for Invacare America’s customers. The pairing combines Freedom Designs’ custom wheelchair expertise with [Motion Concepts’] Matrx’s advanced seating technology, creating a premier ‘on-chair’ solution for personalized comfort and support.”

Motion Concepts’ Matrx seating products are now listed on Freedom Designs’ order forms.

“A streamlined ordering process will relieve customers of the burden of ordering various parts through separate transactions, enabling the use of a single order form, one purchase order, one invoice, and one delivery day — simplifying workflows and improving efficiency,” the announcement said.

Matrx seating will also be available through the full Invacare America network.

“This collaboration reinforces our commitment to delivering advanced, comprehensive mobility solutions that place users’ needs first,” said Judy Rowley, Motion Concepts’ vice president. “By increasing access to our innovative products, we can reach and support even more people who could benefit from these products.”

“When crafting wheelchairs, the goal is not only to provide solutions to people with mobility challenges – it is to enhance their lives,” said Gavriela Guerrero, managing director, Freedom Designs. “Through this partnership, we can more effectively get products to customers that help empower individuals to move freely and comfortably in their daily lives.”

Freedom Designs is based in Simi Valley, California. Motion Concepts is headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario, with American offices in Tonawanda, New York. Invacare Holdings Corp. is in Elyria, Ohio.
