Colours Wheelchair, manufacturer of ultralightweight wheelchairs for adults and children, has announced a “soft opening” after pausing operations in February.
In a May 14 social media post, Colours said it would “begin to take quote request[s]” and would resume processing orders and providing services to its providers and customers on May 14.
Because phones are still not operating, the post recommended that stakeholders use email to communicate:
— [email protected] to submit purchase orders.
— [email protected] to submit quote requests.
— [email protected] for customer service requests.
“Please be advised that our phone services are currently unavailable, but we expect to restore them soon,” the post said. “In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to us via email for a prompt response.” Fax services, Colours added, are no longer available.
“We will not operate at the office on a daily schedule, meaning it is important to make an appointment ahead of time,” the post said. “While some parts may be readily available, others may have lead times, resulting in potential delays. Services will be available [on an] appointment-only basis.”
Colours won’t be providing quotes for new wheelchairs at this time, and won’t be manufacturing new wheelchairs or providing welding or sewing services.
The manufacturer announced in a Feb. 10 social media post that it was pausing production at the end of February, a decision resulting from “increasing costs, prompting the relocation of our factory.” Colours is known for its custom ultralightweight wheelchair building.
“We would like to express our gratitude to everyone for their ongoing support of Colours,” the most recent post said. “We kindly request your continued patience as we work diligently to support our valued customers. Thank you for your understanding.”
