May 13, 2016 by Laurie Watanabe

Cure SMA has announced new board members and committee members ahead of the organization’s annual conference.

Joining the board of the organization, which is dedicated to supporting children and families with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and to finding treatments and a cure, are Annie Kennedy, Spencer Perlman and John Porter.

Cure SMA also welcomed new committee members Kelly Cole (public advocacy committee), Doug Kerr (science & medicine), John Kissel (science & medicine), Katherine Klinger (science & medicine), Edmund Lee (finance), Catherine Martin (finance), Thomas Murray (science & medicine), Shannon Shryne (programs & development), Brian Snyder (science & medicine), Peter Statile (finance) and Charlotte Sumner (science & medicine).

In announcing the new board and committee members, Cure SMA said they would “support ongoing strategic work by the board and related communities. The last several years in particular have seen great progress for our community, in multiple areas. Six drugs are now in clinical trials, initiatives are underway to improve the standard of care for SMA, and we’ve been given multiple opportunities to share our community’s voice with the FDA as part of the Patient-Focused Drug Development Initiative.”

Cure SMA’s annual conference will be held June 16-19 in Anaheim, Calif. Click HERE for conference details.
