Traditional footrests can be damaged when subjected to significant forces. But the Dynamic Footrest provides an energy-absorbing range of motion. The footrest is capable of up to three types of movement: telescoping; knee extension; and plantar/dorsi flexion. By providing movement in response to client movement, the footrest enables forces to be absorbed, protecting client, wheelchair frame and seating system. Extensor tone is absorbed and diffused, reducing overall tone and posturing. The movement provided can increase sitting tolerance and decrease agitation.
An ATP & Clinician Best Pick of 2018:
I love the Seating Dynamics Dynamic Footrests because these move in response to client force, removing leverage and helping my client to stay in position instead of standing in their wheelchair! This reduces overall extension and helps the client better tolerate the wheelchair seating system.
