Suspension System

As Seen at the Numotion Leadership Conference: The new Dynamic Suspension System (DSS) product line from Seating Dynamics is a retrofitable suspension system for manual tilt-in-space wheelchairs. Wheelchairs often encounter uneven pavement, sidewalk cracks and other obstacles that cause bumps and vibrations. The DSS is designed to transfer those movements to the absorption system rather than to the wheelchair user to reduce unwanted effects — such as pain, fatigue and increased tone — while providing a smoother ride that can translate to increased sitting tolerance. Currently available for Sunrise Medical’s Quickie and Zippie IRIS wheelchair models, Seating Dynamics is planning to make the suspension system available for additional wheelchair brands and models in the future.
