SoftWheel

SoftWheel

SoftWheel

This in-wheel suspension for manual wheelchairs absorbs impact shocks and vibrations while also providing rigidity and stability to minimize the pain and fatigue often associated with daily wheelchair use and propulsion. The three arms inside the wheel absorb shocks from any direction, and the arms automatically compress when encountering bumps or uneven terrain. SoftWheel remains rigid over flat terrain, but offers cushioning on bumpy pavement or offroad, thus absorbing shock that would otherwise be felt by the wheelchair user. Choose from Acrobat M (Magnesium) or Acrobat A (Aluminum) in 24" and 25" sizes.

SoftWheel

As Seen at the Numotion Leadership Conference: Available in magnesium or aluminum models, SoftWheels feature patented in-wheel suspension that automatically responds to uneven terrain to produce a smoother ride. SoftWheel’s lightweight construction makes it easy to lift the wheelchair in and out of vehicles. Choose a 24" or 25" wheel size, as well as a “stage” (based on user weight), and a performance package that further allows a choice of handrim, tire and tube for a truly customized package. SoftWheel is distributed in the United States by Numotion.

Rowheels

REV Wheels

REV Wheels

The pull-based propulsion of REV Wheels is designed to minimize factors that can contribute to shoulder injury and pain in manual wheelchair users. Rowheels offers two models: The REV-HX was created for quickness and responsiveness, while the REV-LX was made to be easier to use. Rowheels says both models can strengthen shoulder and back muscles that are neglected during standard self-propulsion. REV Wheels are HCPCS coded E2227 and are covered via insurance, including Medicare, Veterans Affairs and private insurance funding.

SoftWheel

SoftWheel

The SoftWheel suspension system for manual wheelchairs comprises three shock absorbers located inside the wheel. That translates into a rigid ride on flat surfaces for maximum stability, and compression to absorb impact on bumpy terrains for a cush-to travel easily over curbs, cobblestones and other rough surfaces without suffering major impact to their spines and backs. SoftWheels are available in magnesium or aluminum models and are constructed as single-piece, rigid forms for added strength. SoftWheels are currently for sale in more than 20 countries worldwide.

Topolino Technology

WX2.5 Wheels

WX2.5 Wheels

The continuous carbon fiber spokes of Topolino’s WX2.5 span the full diameter of the wheel to reduce stresses and create a wheelset designed for unparalleled performance. The WX2.5 is lighter than many other lightweight wheels, while offering greater lateral stiffness at the same time. It’s available in 24" and 25" diameters, in black with red or yellow accents. The WX2.5 fits standard .5"-diameter axles and is 4- or 6-tab handrim compatible.

Rowheels

Rowheels

The Rowheels system propels a manual chair forward when the user pulls (similar to a rowing motion) on the handrim, and moves backwards when the user pushes. The result, Rowheel says, is fewer propulsion strokes and improved posture with better shoulder/back positioning. Rowheels are available in 22", 24", 25" and 26" wheel sizes. They fit most manual wheelchairs and can be used with ergonomic handrims.
