Drive Medical Purchases French Manufacturer

July 16, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Drive Medical has acquired Dupont Medical, a home medical equipment manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Frouard, France.

In a news announcement about the acquisition, Drive said Dupont Medical had been founded more than 150 years ago and manufactures and distributes products including wheelchairs, beds and patient lifts under the Mobily, Samery and Adage brands. In recent years, Dupont has launched seatlift chairs.

Harvey P. Diamond, chairman/CEO of Drive Medical, said of the purchase, “This acquisition provides Drive Medical with a significant presence in France, and expands our presence in Europe. We are excited to have Dupont Medical as part of the Drive family of companies, and we will continue to expand the reach of Dupont Medical in France and throughout Europe.”

Pierrick Haan, Dupont’s chairman/president, will continue in his role, Diamond added.

Haan said, “We are delighted to align ourselves with a company such as Drive Medical, which has become one of the most rapidly growing manufacturers and distributors in the healthcare industry. With Drive’s resources and capabilities, I am confident that Dupont Medical will continue to thrive in the French and European markets through access to a wider range of products, new distribution channels, and a commitment to unparalleled customer satisfaction. Moreover, Drive Medical will help distribute Dupont’s manufactured product lines across new distribution channels throughout Europe.”
