ACHC on HIPAA Security
Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) is hosting a free DMEPOS webinar on Dec. 17, starting at 2 p.m. Eastern. Attorney Denise Laird will lead “Preparing for the Inevitable — Best Practices for Preventing, Investigating and Responding to HIPAA Security Incidents.” Learning objectives for attendees include being able to list the steps necessary when a breach takes place; identifying a breach that must be reported to the Office of Civil Rights; and developing a plan to mitigate damage from a HIPAA breach.”

Michael J. Fox Foundation on Parkinson’s Caregiving
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research’s free Dec. 19 webinar, “Parkinson’s Care Partners: Not Another ‘Self-Care’ Discussion,” will include “everyday tips for all care partners — spouses, children, neighbors and friends.” The expert panelists will also discuss ways to reduce burnout risk “using small strategies, including forging a community of care to support loved ones with Parkinson’s disease.”

The AT Continuum for Boys with Duchenne MD
Julie Wells, MS, OTR/L, ATP, C/NDT, and Erin Baker, PT, will discuss progressive loss of function for boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and how various forms of assistive technology (AT) can support them. The Dec. 18 presentation, starting at 12 p.m. Eastern, will include how to access AT and when to start using it. Complete the survey and quiz to earn 0.1 IACET CEU.
