Handi-Ramp Teams with Baird & Warner on Home Access Program

October 1, 2006 by Mobility Management

Handi-Ramp &#151 manufacturer of portable and permanent ramps for home, commercial and automotive vehicle applications &#151 has partnered with independent real estate broker Baird & Warner to create the Home Access Program, designed to meet the special needs of people with disabilities.

Baird & Warner clients who purchase a home will be entitled to a free consultation with Handi-Ramp’s accessibility experts, who will give advice on how to make the new home more accessible.

“Working with the home buyers, we’ll develop a plan to accommodate their specific needs that could include exterior or interior ramps, lifts or handrails,” says Handi-Ramp CEO Thom Disch. “With a minimal amount of lead time, we can complete the installation prior to the move-in date.”

Baird & Warner agents can also build the cost of modifications into the home mortgage to make payments more affordable. “As our population ages, more and more of us will need homes that are safe and accessible, and we see the Home Access Program as a natural extension of the services we offer our customers,” says Baird & Warner account manager Karen Larsen.
